02/03/2010 - Julia’s House has ranked in the Sunday Times Top 1

For the second year running Julia’s House has ranked in the Sunday Times Top 100 ‘Best Companies.’

The Best Companies scheme measures management standards and staff satisfaction. It is open to charities like Julia’s House as well as companies.

Julia’s House achieved the maximum Three Stars rating, the equivalent of three Michelin stars for restaurants, and ranked an astonishing 18th overall in the country, out of 964 organizations that entered.

It shows that a charity can be just as well run as the best of the private sector, and that when people give us a donation they can expect it to be extremely well used.

The scheme is free for charities and gives feedback on how to improve standards still further.

Peter Scott, Chief Executive of Dorset Business, the Dorset chamber of commerce and industry, commented on the Julia’s House ranking: ‘In these more challenging economic times, I do hope this most recent accolade for Julia’s House will prompt even more businesses and individuals to consider donations, bequests and legacies for this very worthy (and well-run) charity’.
