One of the Chamber’s most prestigious events of the year and a definite for your business diary!

Enjoy a drinks reception followed by a three course lunch and entertainment from the guest speaker Don Wales, grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE and the nephew of Donald Campbell CBE.

Few people have experienced driving a steam-powered car at over 140mph, let alone broken a world speed record in the process. Arguably, just as few have driven a lawnmower at nearly 90mph. And there are those who drive electric / hybrid vehicles to whom a speed of 300mph might look unattainable…. These are all the kind of challenges on which our Guest Speaker thrives. A professional photographer by trade , Don Wales is the grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell and nephew of Donald Campbell. Don will give us an overview of the trials, tribulations and eventual success of the Lymington-built British Steam Car project, and his aspirations for the latest incarnation of Bluebird.
